'MacGuyver' Meets 'Jackass'
Discovery Channel’s “One Way Out” features escape artist Jonathan Goodwin, whose idea of fun is planning daring escapes out of household items. Sometimes, Jonathan succeeds by finding the “one way out,” but when he fails, the set-up guarantees painful (or at least unpleasant) consequences for him. This 30-second launch spot, directed by Motion Theory’s Grady Hall, is a single camera move that goes behind the scenes at the show’s workshop. Jonathan walks us through the madness, taking part in a number of activities and stunts related to the show. (Yes, the skin of his head was actually on fire, and yes, that’s a real, live scorpion that we duct-taped into his mouth).
