Saatchi & Saatchi NY turned to MTh director Grady Hall to bring the stories of Olay Essentials to life as an elegant mix of beautiful portraiture and artistically designed animations. Featuring country superstar Carrie Underwood, the two spots seamlessly integrate elements of live action and design to create dimensional, illustrative worlds. Each spot features a 3D projection interacting with Carrie to convey a dreamy impressionistic style that enhances the live action.

For “In Any Light,” Hall put the songstress into a stylized, golden, urban beach locale, and for “Make it Sing,” the surroundings are a tranquil, blue cloudscape.  Mirada created the beautiful animations that define the spot environments.

The spots feature beautiful textured illustrations, each creating its own distinctive vibe. The spot "In Any Light" features Underwood moving effortlessly across locations with just a few steps, highlighted by illustrated sun rays.  "Make It Sing" visualizes sound and music as flowing lines and floating notes.  The spots strive to push beyond abstract backgrounds, delivering a sense of place with a new design language that establishes a style of its own.
