Toyota's legacy of safety spans three generations in this time-lapse home movie spot directed by Motion Theory's Grady Hall.

Toyota and InterTrend approached Motion Theory and director Grady Hall to dramatize Toyota's long legacy of safety by depicting three generations of satisfied owners in a single camera that seemingly spans two decades. The "Growing Up" spot combines the low-fi, handheld "home movie" approach with a very high-tech visual effects approach to create a single camera move time lapse. The story focuses on a young girl who grows into a young woman with a daughter of her own, and includes a growth montage depicted with the help of nearly a dozen actresses. Cinematographer Jack Green infused each time period with its own look, while Art Director Heidi Berg and Lead Compositor Andrew Ashton teamed up to bring the "home movie" feeling to life in post by combining motion-control and Steadicam footage into a seamless camera move.
